TERMS OF USE FOR POLICE BRUTALITY LIST

1. Agreement to the Terms

By using this site in any manner, including but not limited to, filing a report of officer misconduct, viewing misconduct incident reports, viewing misconduct incident locations, viewing our comprehensive list of officers reported on this site, using this information to nullify court cases during jury duty, or to attain any information whatsoever about law enforcement officers or law enforcement agencies, I agree to all of the following:

2. Hold Harmless

I agree to hold harmless Police Brutality List and all of its associates, assigns, business partners, sponsors, employees, volunteers, or anyone else primarily or tangentially associated with Police Brutality List for any damages resulting from the acquisition or use of the information on this site.

3. Accuracy of Information

I understand that Police Brutality List is a self-reporting site and makes every effort to be factual in presenting information contained herein. Yet, due to human judgment and human error, the information on this site is still subjective and may occasionally contain information that has not yet been fully verified for accuracy and may not be completely reliable or one-hundred percent up to date at any given minute. It is never intended for any information on this site to falsely defame any individual and any information that does so or is thought to do so is false. All map coordinates are approximate locations and do not indicate the actual address of an incident. More than likely the event occurred on the street listed, but the pinpoint location on that street is random. This is due to Police Brutality List only asking for, and requiring, the street name but not the actual address, on the reporting form. This intentional vagueness is meant to protect the victim from becoming a victim for a second time due to retaliatory actions by their local law enforcement agencies.

4. Officer Status

Inclusion of any officer in any of our lists implies neither wrongdoing on the part of the officer or officers involved, nor justification on the part of the victim or victims. All listings merely document the occurrence of said incident. Therefore, as a user of this site I agree to do my own due diligence in determining the validity of all information contained herein prior to determining it’s proper application.

5. Conditions for Filing a Report

Ideally, the victim of misconduct should fill out a report, however, repots may be filled out by anyone with information about the incident being reported. Any duplications of the same event will result in the individual most closely related to said event having the final word. However, we understand that the victim is no longer with us in some cases. For example, if you know of someone who was killed by law enforcement, you may fill out the events of that incident to the best of your knowledge.

6. Our Due Diligence

Your report will NOT appear immediately. We will read ALL submitted reports in order to preserve our integrity and do our very best in reporting valid information only.

7. Our Right to Edit Reports

We reserve the right to edit reports in any way we desire. However, when we do, our intent is never to change the meaning, but rather to keep things as concise and clear as possible for all who may read said report. Our goal is to stay focused on our mission. Sometimes “short and sweet”, is the best way to get a point across. While we reserve the right to edit content in your report, it does not mean we will automatically edit or correct a report you submit. Because of this, you should be sure your report is as clean and concise as possible to further the chance of inclusion on our list. We are a credible site intent on keeping our content factual and informative. Reports that ramble or defame or are an angry rant stand no chance whatsoever of making our national list.

8. No Legal Advice

Information contained within www.PoliceBrutalityList.com is not, and should not be taken as legal advice. We are in not in the business of providing legal advice. Therefore, if you need legal advice you should consult with a competent attorney who is experienced in the area of law that you require.
